Doula Birth Services
Women have been supporting women giving birth since the beginning of time. A doula provides emotional, physical and educational support to you and your partner during the pregnancy, birth and postpartum period. A doula is a calm and confident presence, encouraging relaxation, trust in your body and connection with your partner.
Doulas can educate you in pregnancy, guide you through labor, and in the event of a transfer to the hospital, your doula will transfer with you and provide the support and guidance you need to have a beautiful hospital birth.
Benefits of having a doula present at your birth:
- More likely to have a spontaneous vaginal birth
- Decreases risk of cesarean
- Decrease in the use of any medications for pain relief
- Shorter labors
- Better Apgar scores for baby
- Feel more satisfied about birth experience
Having doula support during your postpartum period may mean:
- Support with the emotional and physical recovery
- Support with breastfeeding

Jessica is our lead staff doula and birth class instructor. She is a wife and mama to three littles. Through her own personal experiences and journey into motherhood she found a deep love and passion for all things birth, babies and parenting. Jessica has personally been through a cesarean as well as had multiple vbac births. After many years as a doula, she has found that she may be a great strength to have in a hospital setting, but home birth and birth center births are her heart and soul.
Originally from California, Dawn has been in Colorado for 9 years after meeting her husband on a random NYE trip to Denver. She has three earth-side children and three heavenly babies. As a BIRTHFIT Coach, Dawn helps women train intentionally while pregnant and prepare for labor and delivery. She specializes in helping mamas rehab during postpartum and prepare their bodies for motherhood. It was during her labors that Dawn realized another calling, and that was to be a doula. Listening and supporting moms along their pregnancies and helping them birth their babies as close to their vision as possible.
Jesse was born and raised in Wyoming, counting Colorado as home since earning her BA in Math and Spanish from Western Colorado University in 2012. While there, she met her husband. They have four children together. Her own birth experiences are great assets to her Doula work. She personally navigated unexpected complications and has had a cesarean as well as three VBAC’s. One of those was even at the birth center! Her passion for Doula work began in 2014 when friends insisted she attend their births due to her intuitive abilities paired with her knowledge of essential oils, homeopathics, emotional release and trauma work.
As the Director of the Loveland CRU, Brianna helps train and support others for and in challenging times. She does not want others to just “hang in there” but wants them to flourish in the midst of the uncertainty and expectancy. She has worked on the front lines of crisis for 11 years as a Crisis Response Missionary and Chaplain for Crisis Response International where she deploys around the world. While home in Colorado with her husband, 5 kids, and grandbaby, Brianna also has other roles in the community, but what she loves best is her role as a Doula. Her training with CRI, CBI and Tender Gifts have widened her skill set as a Doula. Brianna’s sincere desire is for all to have unwavering Faith, Hope and Joy even when life is challenging. “We were designed to Thrive, not just survive!”
Originally from East of Colorado Springs, Kayla has been living in Fort Collins and the Northern Colorado area since 2007. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and was planning on pursuing her Masters in Industrial/Organizational Psychology until she became pregnant with and birthed her first under the care of the Tender Gifts Midwives. It was then that she became infinitely curious about birthwork and subsequently driven to provide women and families with support and care throughout their pregnancy, labor and postpartum journeys. She is concurrently pursuing a prenatal yoga teacher certification, certification as a doula, and also volunteers as a local coordinator for an online and over the phone community that provides perinatal mental health support and resources for mothers and families globally. She is pleased to have the opportunity to train with Tender Gifts Midwifery and Birth Center.
