Experience The Birth You've Always Imagined
Did you know that the word “Midwife” means “With Women”? The role of midwife is to walk beside you, in support and safety as you do the most natural thing in the world, give birth.
Midwives value communication and strive to develop a trusting, working relationship with the women and families they serve.
In the course of developing that relationship, midwives provide personalized and thorough care at many levels including preconception, pregnancy, labor, birth, postpartum, and beyond.
On average, expectant parents receive 14, one hour appointments of prenatal care during the term of pregnancy.
As your midwife, my priority is to ensure the safety of every mother and baby during the labor and delivery experience at home.
During the postpartum period, my intention is to preserve the emotional and physical wellbeing of mother and baby.
“Can’t wait to have another so we can hire Althea! We love Althea! She is compassionate, knowledgeable, patient, and has a caring and attitude. It is so easy to develop a friendly rapport with her, which is essential in your patient/midwife dialogue. She was the first to arrive on the scene for our homebirth. She was calm and confidant and took over with great initiative and provided emotional stability for my family and I. Althea’s professionalism and competence allowed my mother to relax and enjoy the moment; which in turn allowed me to be present, focused and less distracted. My homebirth was a great experience.” – Joan and Seth
